Cityfibre teams are working urgently to identify the cause and restore services as quickly as possible. CityFibre field engineers and third-party engineers are on site and have carried out OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer) tests. These tests help determine how far network traffic can travel along the fibre before it fails, which in turn indicates the location of a fibre break. Initial results from CityFibre indicate that the fault lies within one of our third-party networks.
